I moved to Brimpton Common, upon my marriage to Dennis, in January 1970. We bought a tumbledown cottage form Wasing Estate, renovated it and lived in it for 20 years.  We then demolished it and built the house that is there today.  I started my working life as a teacher, firstly at Cold Ash, then at Tadley Primary School. I have been involved in the PTA of Aldermaston and Brimpton Schools, did supply teaching at both; helped with the Golden Jubilee Fete;, and have been involved in the W.I. since it reformed in 1976.  I was Clerk to the Parish Council for 10 years, and am now in my third term as Councillor.  I have three children and four grandchildren.

I moved to Brimpton in 2011 with my wife, Annette and this is my first time as a Parish Councillor. I have previously served as a governor for Tadley Primary School for several years while my children attended there. I'm actively involved with Brimpton Village Hall and am also involved with the Fete this year. I started my working life as an engineering apprentice in Malvern and moved into IT in the early 80's and moved to this area in 1985. I continued to work in IT until I retired in 2016. In my younger days I spent my spare time playing rugby as a prop forward as well as helping with Annette's horses and walking dog. After I stopped playing rugby due to a major injury I took up SCUBA diving which I still enjoy. I'm still very much involved with helping Annette with her horses, looking after the grandchildren and of course walking Toast, our rescue Greyhound.

I have also been involved in the organisation of the two most recent Brimpton Fetes. Albeit, my career started in the accountancy profession, I spent 30 years in the computer industry, retiring in 2001. Since then, I have been actively involved in two start-up businesses with our younger son. For 50 years, my main hobby has been the restoring of classic cars and more recently, classic racing.
